Volunteer with Hope for Heroes
Hope for Heroes is 603 Legal Aid’s Veteran focused legal service project, providing legal services to Veterans of all income levels.
The Hope for Heroes project was created to address the general civil legal needs veterans face that contribute to housing instability or homelessness and to provide much-needed legal assistance with veteran-specific issues.
This program is supported by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs Legal Services for Homeless Veterans program. It is the only program of its kind in New Hampshire and one of just over one hundred programs in the country.
With a dedicated Hope for Heroes staff, this program allows 603 Legal Aid to expand eligibility for our current services, offer veteran-specific services, provide legal information to groups of veterans, maintain a greater presence in our community, and work closely with community partners across New Hampshire to provide legal information directly to clients.
The Hope for Heroes project provides comprehensive legal services for veterans who are homeless or at risk for homelessness in the following areas of law:
- Housing
- Consumer Law
- Employment
- Tax
- Criminal Record Annulments
- Family Law and Domestic Violence
- VA Service-Connected Benefits
- Discharge Upgrades
